Places to See in California - Yosemite

This is the first in the short blog posts I'm going to write about our absolutely fantastic 2017 Cali-moon that we were fortunate enough to take! We spent a week and half road tripping through southern California and saw lots of cool places and took in the gorgeous scenery that was pretty much everywhere!
I don't remember exactly which day Yosemite was (seeing as it was over a year ago!), but we drove in during the mid-afternoon on a dreary, rainy day. Even though it was gross, cold and wet (we went in November), it was still stunning.

We decided to splurge and stay at The Majestic Yosemite Hotel and it did not disappoint! We ate at their bar (we got there waaay too late in the day to attempt the dining room), got some yummy goodies from their gift shop, and made our way up to our room.

We ended up getting a smaller room that was kind of tucked back into a nook, but even that room had a view (even if the building was partly in the way).
I vaguely remember taking pictures of our room, but I can't seem to find them now. Suffice it to say, it was gorgeous and decadent, if a little on the small side for $500 a night (YIKES!).
After we had a sound sleep on a wonderfully comfortable bed, we packed up the rental car and started driving around. It was still wet and foggy, but we still managed to get some awesome pictures!

We stopped at the Merced River and took in the absolute splendor around us.

Here's the sign from where it flooded in 1997!

I don't remember exactly where we stopped to get this shot, but it's my favorite from this stop!

We also drove up to Tunnel View on our way out, but it was too foggy to be able to see much. Still made for some cool pictures!

Overall, Yosemite was one of the top of my list of favorite stops we made. If you're in the area, you have to check it out. It's a bucket list item for sure!
